It’s been debated that Asher Roth and Eminem sound too much alike. Is Roth trying to shadow Eminem? Here’s what Asher has to say about the comparison in a 2009 interview with an internet blogging website.
Asher Roth: Eminem's arguably the best that ever did it. I could put up a valid argument on why he is. I can't be mad at a comparison like that. Any white kid who grew in my generation and listened to hip-hop music is lying if they said they weren't inspired and influenced by Eminem. But I'm almost 15 years younger; I'm a voice of a different generation. People are always going to compare something new to something they've previously experienced - unfortunately there’s not many other artists to compare me to.
Asher goes on to say in his song “As I Em” “Em (Eminem) was great, he paved the way for me. He was inspiration for everyone from A to Z. but they keep relating me. I can’t get away, chasing me. All day long,”

Honestly, I don't think Asher Roth could come anywhere near being as good as Eminem himself and he shouldn't even try. Eminem is my favorite artist that has ever been heard of, when im in a bad mood, or even a good mood, i would deffinately listen to Eminem over Asher anyday. :)
